Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph. —Matt Hardy
Landscape photography has been a long-time favourite interest among photographers from all levels of expertise. Rather than using environments as mere backdrops for a subject, this type of photography takes the landscape and makes it the primary subject itself.
And, as great landscape photos show, a well-composed view of the terrain can be just as captivating and splendid as a scene filled with people and objects, if not more so.
This week’s challenge is to capture the beauty in the landscape around you through photography. We want you to experience the magic of places that you encounter, then share it as a photo comment at the bottom of this post.
Your images can be in black and white or colour, and can show everything from mountains to waterfalls to urban skylines. Shoot wide angle or telephoto — how you create your landscape photo is all up to you.
The top 10 submissions will be carefully chosen by the ExpertPhotography team and then shared with a trusted group of photographers who will decide on the winner.
You only have 7 days to submit your entry, so get out there and start shooting!
